  1. I suppose the question is inevitable: Did you like Do You Like Hitchcock?

  2. You know what? I did. Probably the best Argento I've seen in years (not that this is saying much). Had some genuinely suspenseful sequences. The acting's still a little dicey, but I suppose I've become desensitized to that in an Argento flick.

However, the real pleasant surprise was BLOODY BIRTHDAY. Solid little killer kids flick. Better than DEVIL TIMES FIVE, though probably not up to WHO CAN KILL A CHILD?

  3. I must confess, I wasn't terribly impressed by Devil Times Five when I came across it during my "Chilling Classics" series.

As for Argento, the last thing I saw of his was his segment in Two Evil Eyes. That seemed as good a place as any to call it a day.

  4. I will say that I enjoyed SLEEPLESS (2001) well enough, but it's still a far cry from his 70s and early 80s heydays.

You know, I'm not a big fan of DT5 either, but it seems to be one of the more bandied about killer kid titles. I didn't bother to throw out titles like THE GOOD SON or JOSHUA because, well, I don't like them much either. ORPHAN wasn't bad, just a bit long for being what it is.
