I've seen #51-53 on your list because they're all in Mill Creek's "Chilling Classics" set. It contains a lot of duds, but Horror Express is one of the gems.
ReplyDeleteYup, I was thinking of you as I pulled out the ol' CC pack to show the femalien HORROR EXPRESS! (She had demanded some Peter Cushing for the evening, and who am I to turn down a request like that?) I genuinely like HE, although I had forgotten that Cushing is very much a supporting player in that one - Lee has most of the action. Regarding the other "Classics," I actually didn't mind DEVIL'S HAND too much - decent B-fare, but WITCHES MOUNTAIN was a slog.
ReplyDeleteThe other thing The Devil's Hand has going for it: Commissioner Gorgon as a Satanic cult leader! Also, Bruno VeSota has a neat cameo as a doomed cultist.
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, I caught Bruno VeSota before I recognized Commissioner Gordon (although I thought he looked familiar). Thanks for pointing it out!
ReplyDeleteI believe it. Bruno's kind of unmistakable.
