However, as I've spent more time in the Italian horror trenches, I've become accustomed to their particular brand of thesping and can fully appreciate the flick for its groundbreaking gore and dread-filled atmosphere.

As far as Fulci goes, I still place The Beyond, House by the Cemetery, The Gates of Hell, and Don't Torture a Duckling above Zombi 2 in terms of pacing and set-up/pay-off, but this one definitely has its moments.Dr. AC https://www.blogger.com/profile/00222795645885007090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803045395906423494.post-86082050954533418232019-02-21T23:57:22.297-08:002019-02-21T23:57:22.297-08:00One of my favorite Italian horror zombie movies/Fu...One of my favorite Italian horror zombie movies/Fulci movies of all time. I remember first seeing this back in 1998 when I was 11 on the Anchor Bay VHS tape and it scared the shit outta me as I wasn't use to these type of zombies yet after the Romero zombie movies/ROTLD movies countless times previously before during the 90s of my childhood. Back in 1980 when it was first released in the US my pops, my mom and my sister when she was a child got to see this at our local drive-in theater which no longer exist today of course and unfortunately I didn't get see it on the big screen of it's original US theatrical release since I wasn't born yet until 87. But just happy I got to see this classic zombie movie either way on VHS years later and now own several copies of it including the latest 4K ones.
