Mr. Alexander made a film that I enjoyed more than others that have had $20 million times the budget and taken months to create. I repeat, that *I* enjoyed; entertainment mileage will obviously vary from viewer to viewer. But I think there is an audience out there for what he's laying down.

Also, the distribution company sets the prices, not the artist. I say good on Chris for securing a distribution deal and making a movie on his own terms. I look forward to seeing what else he's got up his sleeve. If nothing else, he may inspire others to say, "Hey, if he can do it, so can I." How insulting to real filmmakers!

This marks the beginning of the end for Blu-ray now that shitty no-budget movies rather than half-arsed transfers of real movies are going to start appearing to complicate matters. These "indie" assholes just have to ruin everything.

Chris Alexander seriously expects people to pay $26.99 for a so-called movie which didn't even cost that to make? Jesus wept!Dr Bloodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17904860037603156527noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803045395906423494.post-72937679183163120792013-09-22T05:02:43.319-07:002013-09-22T05:02:43.319-07:00Well, as you can see from my review, I disagree wi...Well, as you can see from my review, I disagree with your assessment, but you're absolutely entitled to your opinion, fellow doctor of death.

Yes, we could all do the same thing, but the point is that most of us do not. If nothing else, Alexander is saying, "Don't like what's happening on the horror scene? Be the change you want to see." While this indeed may be amateur hour - something that Chris freely admits on the commentary - there is more intention and thought behind it than "Hey, let's make a movie this weekend."Dr. AC https://www.blogger.com/profile/00222795645885007090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8803045395906423494.post-59458736792401241162013-09-21T22:01:35.289-07:002013-09-21T22:01:35.289-07:00"Blood for Irena" is a classic example o..."Blood for Irena" is a classic example of why horror movie fans (and Fangoria editors) shouldn't try to make horror movies.

We could all do the same thing with a lava lamp screensaver for the opening titles, a bunch of still images with some public domain classical music over the top, half an hour of amateur vampire footage, and a couple of days playing around with Microsoft Movie Maker.

How the Hell did this crap get to be on Blu-ray? Oh yeah, Fango's connections. Meh.Dr Bloodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17904860037603156527noreply@blogger.com
